Poem Again by Edel Pace

Again by Edel Pace

Raging anguish in my heart,

bone drilling agitation,

fueled by the pain

in my feelings.

.

.

Love is truant,

it’s fire smother.

Death on a hunt,

a life was taken.

.

.

Like the warm ocean in June,

waiting for the cold air,

the news pushed me aside,

And my life drifted.

.

.

By the eternal decree

– your life lifted.

.

.

The flame of life

has gone ballistic,

does not know of direction,

Cannot feel.

.

.

Wandering, through the woods,

Rain forests,

Deserted beaches,

Bouncing of the tundras.

.

.

Death left despair

– a void.

.

.

Nothing seem normal,

the fog will not dissipate.

The soul broken in pieces,

gold cannot repair.

.

.

Living in slow motion is not life,

the thought of you brings joy.

Help me.

Would I ever be the same?

.

.

The warm strength of your love

met the coldness of reality,

yet, with hurricane fury, your love,

a cosmos affair, gave me life -again.

Poem Again by Edel Pace

Again by Edel Pace

This poem was inspired by my grandmother. Her death imposes a heavy burden to deal with on a daily basis. But her love is a reminder for me to carry on – to not drown myself on grief. When I remember of our time together, our long talks, the laughs, and feel the warmth of her hugs, I am born again. A renewed promise of love.

What emotions do you feel when reading the poem? Does it make you think of someone you lost? Do you feel their love gives you life again?

Please leave me a comment. I would like to know what do you think or you could send me a private message.
