Book Review: Spirituality 103, The Forgiveness Code

This book is part of a trilogy of books by the author Ivan Figueroa. Although this is the third book, you don’t necessarily need to have read the first two to understand it. All you need to read this book is to have an open mind and a willingness to learn. Also, it is meant to be studied not as a recreational read.

Spirituality 103, The Forgiveness Code

I did not read the previous two books, but the book by itself gives you the tools to accomplish the goal of knowing yourself and make adjustments to live a more balanced life.

It is spiritual, not religious. The author uses a simple language which makes it easy to understand the concepts. There are difficult terms to understand or to follow, but he took the time to do a glossary for our convenience. He uses analogies and allegories throughout the book that sometimes are confusing.

I read it twice to fully grasp what Mr. Figueroa presented. Also, at the end of each chapter, there’s a homework. It was helpful because it aided to practice the concepts.

If you are looking for a book to find yourself this is it. To understand your relationship to the universe and how ordinary things are not so ordinary as they seem. The main concept is to understand how the Warrior of Light and the Warrior of Shadows are connected:

“The Warrior of Light is always accompanied by his shadow since, without it, he could never remember his light.”

Once you understand that concept then you will be able to achieve forgiveness, acceptance, and empathy.

“The universal language is written in the alphabet of love.”

The chapter I enjoyed the most was about meditation. He explained it in an easy way and a step-by-step on how to do it in the correct way. In addition, I enjoyed epilogue where he shares his personal story and the story of how his books came to be.

In the author’s words: “You will be able to read it (this book) at different stages of your life obtaining different perspectives.” I agree!
