A Philosophical Twit

Earlier this month I got a comment where I was called philosophical twit. Best compliment ever. I could not read in the tone it was expressed if it was that or as a mockery. Either way, I took it the best way possible and let me tell you: I love it! A great name for a blog! Wink wink.

It got me thinking about why that classification. So I reached out to the person. He expressed me that it was because of my writing. The way I looked at things and that he didn’t mean it in a sarcastic way. Phew.

A Twit In The Making

Embracing ourselves the way we are is the best way to be in peace and really experience happiness. That is why I don’t mind being a fool. One that thinks that life is beautiful and should be enjoyed in the best way possible. That no matter the unfortunate circumstances we are facing there’s a silver lining to it.  A fool that smiles over the phone even if the other person can’t see it because they can “feel” it.

I am NOT perfect, nor am I trying to make you think I have a perfect life. But sharing positive thoughts and my points of view of how we can become our best selves is far better than sharing negativity. Believe me, I have my moments. Even those breakdown moments are necessary for a healthy life. Is the balance what we are aiming for. I was not always like this, like everything in life we get to learn how to.

It takes time and willpower to make a change. I’m not a finished product and probably will never be, as life is a continuous effort of change and improvement. The good thing is that once you start and get in the habit, nothing will ever stop you. Some people called it enlightenment, other will tell you its a revelation, finding a purpose, aha moment, etc. For me is just trying to be a better version of me.

Writing For A Cause

That person mentioned my writing. That struck me on many levels. For starters, I do not consider myself a good writer. I am learning. Trying to find my “voice” to express my message. Being English my second language is an added pressure to get it right. Plus this “blogging thing” is new to me. Then there is the part where people are actually reading “my words”.  It’s a humbling feeling. That they will understand or decipher my what I’m trying to convey is another thing. I understand that is a matter of preferences.

Lastly, is that if I could make an impact on just one person, I’ll be forever grateful. Helping others should be a mission in our lives. That is why I started this blog because I felt that if my life could resonate with other moms that are going through similar situations, it would encourage them to keep going and to let them know that they are not alone.

You are not alone and neither am I. We, together, can help each other. Sharing our experiences and lifting ourselves up. Learning for what has worked for others and adapting it to our own reality. Keeping a good attitude and seeing the good in all will translate into a life full of joy.

If that makes me a philosophical twit, I accept it.
