Creative Strategy

Course: Creative Strategy/ADVR 3324

This course taught me the principles of advertisement by developing a creative process that effectively includes writing and designing elements. To create the deliverables I use Adobe Creative Suite: InDesign, Illustrator, Photoshop, Premiere Pro, and Audition.

The projects I developed were:

Creative Development: Airline – Voltaire

I had to develop a creative blueprint for a fictional airline, from its creative brief, names, logo design, and campaign ads.

Creative Brief: I wrote the creative brief in MS Word. Download

Airline names and taglines: I experimented with names and taglines. 100 names and 100 taglines. I wrote them in an MS Word document. Download

Logo Design: I developed 10×10 variations for a total of 100 logo designs. I did the logos in Illustrator and the comparison document in InDesign. Download

Magazine Ads for Voltaire Airlines, five ads in total.

For the magazine ads, I used Photoshop, Illustrator, and InDesign.

Brochure: Disney – Memphis

A brochure presenting the new Disney theme park in Memphis (fictional), Disney’s River Adventure. The theme park has three main areas:

  • Princess Tiana’s Castle
  • Pocahontas’ Wilderness Exploration
  • Sherwood Forest

I used Photoshop, Illustrator, and InDesign to develop this trifold brochure.


Radio and TV Ads

The brand I used to develop these advertisements was Pizza Hut.

For the radio ad, I used my phone to record the voice and Adobe Audition to edit the file and add other sounds.

For the TV ad, I used the camera on my phone and Adobe Premiere Pro to edit the clips.

Outdoor Ads

These are billboard and transit ads developed for Uber Eats. I used Illustrator, Photoshop, and InDesign to make the ads. There are two billboards and two transit ads, four in total. Download

IC Plan and Social Media Posts

The integrated communication plan and the social media posts used the brand Tropicana, Trop50. For the social media posts, I used Photoshop and Adobe Spark.

Final Project: Verizon

For my final project, I selected the brand Verizon. I developed an advertising campaign for the holidays that included an IC Plan, magazines ads (3), newspaper ad (1), outdoor ads (billboard and transit), a radio ad (1), seven days of social media posts, and a TV ad (1). For this project, I used Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign, Audition, SparkPost, and Premiere Pro.
