Last week I received a message from a friend after seeing my Facebook posts, about motivation and going after your dreams and goals. This person started with “Who do you think you are?”
It caught me off guard, to say the least. This person pointed out that I’m not a life coach or a psychologist to support all the things I’m preaching. How are people going to believe me?
A reason to my madness
Instead of responding in a defensive way, I simply agree. No, I’m not a life guru that has all figure out in life. I am the mom next door that is figuring it out. My whole purpose is to show moms out there that staying at home is not a limit to achieve what we want. That we learn, we don’t fail. There’s no manual to show the way, we learn by doing. We make changes and adjust if necessary, but never give up. Being happy is just a reflection of our inner self.
The reason to my madness is that is not about me! I am the means to an end. It’s about the person receiving the message. Giving them hope, encouragement, pushing them to take action. That life is going to be good to you as you are to yourself.
For example, here I am communicating in English (not my native language). Building this website by myself without previous knowledge on the matter. Do I believe I’m an outstanding writer and computer tech now? Absolutely not, but I’m showing a mom out there that it can’t be done. That she has the potential to do it too!
Don’t let someone dim your light just because it’s shining in their eyes! Grow into who YOU want to become, don’t worry about the naysayers.
To answer the question, I am an ordinary woman doing extraordinary things along the way. No titles necessary.
For you, mom out there, let me tell you who you are:
- You are Beautiful,
- Needed and appreciated,
- You Are more than enough,
- You Are Not Alone.
And remember to never let someone bring you down!
Have you ever come along to a situation like this? How did you manage it? I’d love to hear what you got to say. Leave me a comment.
